LFDT

LFDT’s work exists between opposites: order versus chaos; logic versus intuition; discipline versus anarchy; control versus release; and survival versus destruction. It is in the spaces between these contrasts where the company weaves together dance, music, and performance to create works that shape-shift across time and genre and unite the performs and public in both a deconstruction and celebration of the DIY, the independent, the difficult, the intuitive, the romantic and the life affirming.

Marked by a mixture of athletic rigor and experimentation, their iconoclastic works intersect elements of folk and street dance structures that are manipulated and abstracted through a contemporary lens by the dancers. Choreographer and director, Wynn Holmes draws upon the virtuosic skill and musical dexterity of the artists she collaborates with to create bold visceral works known for their percussive energy and punk spirit that merge the deeply emotional with the immensely physical.
